Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Emma hails from New Brunswick and attended the University of New Brunswick from 2004 to 2011, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Laws. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2012.
Emma broadened her court experience by acting as duty counsel in the self-represented litigants’ courtroom at the Court of Queen’s Bench Family Court in 2012. She regularly appears in Alberta Provincial Family Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, and is knowledgable of their respective processes.
Emma seeks to provide her clients with a clear, fair and lasting resolution to their issues. She strives to achieve resolution through the alternative dispute resolution processes available, as she is cognizant of the undesirable effects adversarial litigation can have on her clients and their families.
Upon separation, parties often have legal needs beyond the scope of family law. Emma is pleased to provide legal services in the areas of Wills and Estates.
Emma has been providing a monthly free legal clinic via the Women’s Centre of Calgary since 2014 and is pleased to be expanding her volunteer work to Calgary Legal Guidance in 2017.
